Jak 3 download pc

Did you name the dynamic-duo that will be appearing in the sequel adventure Jak 2? You'd be correct in thinking that Jak and Daxter are a couple of the most iconic heroes in video gaming history. Considering how well their first entry to the franchise was received, that notion is bolstered. Jak 2 seeks to expand on one of the most critically acclaimed action-adventure games of all time.

It left big boots to fill when coming up with a concept that will live up to the sequel hype. If anybody can do it, though, it's the revered developers of Naughty Dog. Let's see if the highly-anticipated sequel manages to live up to its predecessor.

Jak and Daxter entered the fray at quite a convenient time. It was an age where 3D platformers were taking off and proving popular among the masses. Naughty Dog took advantage of the genre's prevalence by adding in their own franchise, offering their strong storytelling prowess into the mix.

The end result was our two loveable furry friends and was well met with gamers worldwide. Following up on such a fantastic first game is always tricky. However, somehow - Naughty Dog has managed to pull off another glorious entry. Jak 2 is one of those sequels that doesn't fix what's not broken but adds a little extra flair to get players excited about the world around them. The dark narrative of dystopian revenge complements the dreary Haven City, where much of the game is set.

The story progresses in an immersive manner with robust character development for Jak and Daxter. Not to mention the game seamlessly pairing its tales with the platforming level design and satisfying combat.

There's nothing monotonous on offer, and Jak 2 feels like a complete game in nearly every sense of the phrase. If one had to pick out some irritating aspects, there are a couple. It would mainly fall down to the difficulty and lack of checkpoints in the game. However, those are only a couple of flaws in what has shown to be even better than its predecessor.

It's a feat rarely accomplished in the video game world - but Jak 2 is arguably one of the generation's best action-adventure games. There's a reason why this era was considered the golden age of platformers.

If you think about how many great games came out around the same time as Jak 2, you'll sit and wonder where we went wrong today. But let's sit and celebrate that we got offered a game like Jak 2. If you are a young gamer looking for a definition of what made an excellent platformer, you wouldn't need to look further than Jak 2. It's the epitome of what a good game should be - immersive, satisfying, rewarding - and of course, easily accessible. Bar its difficulty curve, the game is nothing short of a masterpiece.

What we didn't expect was that a follow-up to the kid-friendly platformer would follow with such a dark, gritty, more mature approach. As you can see, developer Naughty Dog has left behind the bright Crash Bandicoot -style backdrops of the original in favor of a setting that looks more like a war zone.

When we last left Jak and Daxter, they were peering into a mysterious, glowing doorway. At the start of Jak II, we learn that doorway is actually a portal to a dark, depressed city in a completely different time period. Naturally, the pair enter the doorway, but they aren't given a warm reception on the other side; the natives grab Jak, throw him in jail, and experiment on him using dark eco, the mutagenic goo from the last game. Daxter eventually helps his friend break out of prison, but hard time has changed Jak into an angry, street-smart tough guy see the sidebar for details.

The art in Jak 3 is the classic Naughty Dog look of cartoonish 3D characters with distinct features. The feeling of seeing this on the screen is not replicated by many other than Naughty Dog and their special game franchises, and it makes for an irreplaceable memory of the games.

One extreme bonus of low graphics in a game and the cartoon feel, is that there are hardly ever any complaints of the game not running smooth, allowing for a non-frustrating and uninterrupted gameplay judging that your device handles it.

Following the same path of play as the previous Jak installments, Jak 3 has the same storyline. As Jak searches for the cure for Daxter an ottsel turned human , they find themselves in a tragic turn of events that results with their next adventure Jak 3 taking place in a wasteland.

While a wasteland is not the most exciting place to have an adventure, and probably results in the characters having a stench, the wasteland featured in Jak 3 makes for an abundantly larger map than in the previous two installments of the series. Doing missions to search for the power cells needed to cure Daxter, Jak will find himself running all over the wasteland to run errands for individuals and even fight them.

One thing different from the past games is that all vehicles in Jak 3 have to be unlocked, with no ability to jump in the car and drive. New guns, new vehicle mechanics, and a new ragdoll effect, there are enough new things to keep players interested, but enough of the original game to give a sense of continuity and nostalgia to the past installments. All things considered, Jak 3 is a great continuation of an already great series.

The storyline is able to keep fans interested without changing, and the new and improved mechanics and features in each installment make for an exciting, new gameplay each time around, as players get to experience the same game and nostalgia of a beloved experience, with the excitement of seeing things for the first time and learning what the game is able to do.
